Your guide to your Beckenham Town Centre

About the TCM Team

What is Beckenham Town Centre Management

The Town Centre Steering Group works with the Town Centre Manager to establish the needs of Beckenham Town Centre and how these can best be achieved. We are always looking at ways to involve businesses more closely with this process which benefits us all.

We want Beckenham Town Centre to remain a safe, thriving and pleasant environment in which to live, work and shop, and we would like you to have more say as to how to Beckenham should develop and improve. Funding is, of course, always an issue and the fairest way of proceeding is to ask all parties – local shops and businesses large and small, the public sector and any other large companies who have an interest in Beckenham, to contribute to these costs. When we try to collect for the Christmas lights, for example, we find that all these parties are happy to contribute according to their means if they know that everyone else is also contributing.

Therefore, as a business owner in Beckenham we would like to invite you to join the ‘Beckenham Business Association Membership Scheme’, this will encompass the businesses the local Police, the Town Centre Manager and other local organisations that are all part of our town. All businesses are being invited to become a member in order to support the progress of Beckenham as a thriving town centre.

Your benefits as a member are to include:

  • A right to say as to what goes on in your town centre and to attend periodic meetings.
  • Special discounts for local newspaper advertising.
  • Preferential member trading discounts (subject to agreement).
  • A designated town centre website coupled with a link to your own website or the facility to have your own page designed and updated as and when you wish. (www.beckenham.towntalk.co.uk)
  • Special discounts to advertise on the website and to add local news and events.
  • Crime prevention advice from the police and the invitation to attend ‘business watch’ meetings.
  • Representation on the Safer Neighbourhood Panel.
  • Regular newsletters from the Town Centre Association.

  • The cost of the Christmas lights is also covered by your membership.

For a nominal annual fee, you will become a member of the Association and receive all of these benefits. Only members will receive these benefits.

The cost for single units will be fixed for a minimum of 3 years at £180 per annum or, £15 per month. This can set up as a standing order. Multiples, or large stores/businesses will be set at a rate of £500 per annum.
