A care home in Croydon is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 21st April, from 11am-3pm the team at Amberley Lodge on Downlands Road will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Amberley Lodge has organised a Commonwealth themed party to celebrate the open day, with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth, decorating the home. Visitors can look forward to live entertainment throughout the day, as well as a a fun cupcake decorating session and Namaste experience. There will be an informative talk from members of the Care UK team, local GPs and a guest speaker from Age UK, and a commonwealth ‘big lunch’ for everyone to enjoy.
Home manager at Amberley Lodge, Krystyna Bosko, said: “We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase the residents’ homemade decorations and everything that Amberley Lodge has to offer. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Croydon.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Amberley Lodge will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s guide, A Helping Hand.
